Audrey Hepburn was a very wise woman when she said, “Paris is always a good idea.” …and I could not agree with her more.
After a tremendous amount of thought and consideration, I decided to pack my bags and move to France. I have officially been in Paris for one week, and it is due time to start blogging again, and start answering the question: “Where in the world are you now?!” I AM IN PARIS!!!
I must admit, and loving it.
I am living in a beautiful 19th Century home with an incredible French family with two kids who are teaching me French, as they don’t speak English, and a cat whose name coincidentally means “mischief”. My room has insanely gorgeous crown molding, a desk with the top as a world map, a fire place, wi-fi, and a view of the Eiffel Tower. I will, also, be beginning French classes at La Sorbonne soon. Could a girl whose dream was Paris since she was 8 years old, ask for more?
My brain is on mega-drive, everyday, as I am learning SO much. From learning how to use a French microwave, to how to open a 19th Century door, re-learning the Paris Metro System, how to make international calls, and oh yeah, how to speak the language of the country that I moved to. I have had a nightly head-ache from SO much learning! However, there is one thing that I keep learning over, and over…..and over…and it’s always to trust your intuition.
I have come to realize the immense power of listening to your intuition…and, perhaps more importantly, following it.
Your intuition is a powerful tool that can lead your life in insanely amazing directions, if and only if, you choose to trust and follow it.
Following your heart is a scary thing. There has been plenty of instances where I have tried to talk myself out of following my heart due to a thousand different reasons. The one thing that has continually kept me accountable for my dreams, though, was and is my crazy, strong intuition.
I have heard so many people tell me some of my decisions are “a risk.”
However, I would say that the true risk is not following your heart, not trying to make your dreams come true, and not living the life you have always imagined.
You have been given one life. It is up to you, and only you, how you are going to live it.
So go out and live it!
